Horizon Climbing Boulder League Summer 2026

a 6-week friendly team-based competition!

How it Works

We’re switching it up and trying some new things for our next boulder league! 

  • Teams of 2-4 people 

  • Scoring:

    • We will be using paper scorecards this time!

    • You will score your TEAM’s top five climbs 

  • Each person will have a different vMax - so your team can contain people of different ability levels, and everyone can contribute equally to the team’s score!

  • Your VMax = the grade you can typically climb at Horizon in 3-5 attempts

  • Every member of your team can also receive an attendance bonus on League Night to encourage everyone to come out and contribute!

OTHER THINGS TO NOTE:

Every week will have a different theme- with an exciting opportunity to earn bonus points for your team if you participate!

At the end of League, we will have prizes for our 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place teams!

League FAQ

  • League Nights will be where the most hype is, but if you can’t make it at that time you can still participate in League! You can come and climb any time during the week, but you won’t be eligible for the theme and attendance bonuses. You must turn in your team’s scorecard by the Wednesday before the next League night in order for your score to be counted. 

    Weekly standings will be posted on Thursdays during the day.
    You do need to be able to attend the final night on August 6th in order to be present for awards and prizes!

  • Nope! You will receive an attendance bonus per person and it will be normalized for the number of people on your team.

  • No worries - your lowest scoring week will be dropped from your team’s score going into the final week. 

    You do need to be able to attend the final night on August 5th in order to have a chance to score a prize!

  • A: YES! Our vMax system levels the playing field, so everyone has a chance to score for their team regardless of ability level.

  • Register as an individual, and let us know you’re looking for teammates. We will help you find a team!

  • Each route in the gym can be counted once per person during League.

  • Nope, you can also register in person when league starts!

    We recommend registering in advance to help us plan, especially if you need teammates.
